The 2nd Euro-Med Youth Conference of the Euro-Med Youth Parliament is an initiative inspired by the movements that dominated the Euro-Med region after the global financial crisis and what became known as the ‘Arab Spring’. Although these demonstrations took place in different parts of the world, they all shared the particular characteristic of being initiated by the youth expressing a noticeable demand for change.
Consequently, the aim of the conference is to provide young engaged citizens of the Euro-Med region the opportunity to jointly come up with ideas and projects that contribute to the shaping of their future societies.Through meetings and discussions, the conference offers its participants a unique opportunity to establish links with active youths from the entire Euro-Med society.
The conference plans to host 40 participants in the ages of 18-25 from the Mediterranean region (Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Israel, Turkey, Morocco, Egypt and Tunisia), and 40 participants from Europe. The conference will further invite committee moderators and organisers (approximately 30 people) also coming from a range of national backgrounds.
